About Us
What does the word Lucorum mean?
Lucorum is latin for bumble bee which is where our stylish town centre venue derives its name. If you look closely above the entrance doors you will see a bee hive carved into the stonework, an original feature dating back to 1873.
The Lucorum complex dates back to the eighteenth century and over the years has been used for many different purposes including the manufacture of footwear, a chocolate shop, the stabling of horses, a linen warehouse and the printing of local newspapers. Now fully restored and refurbished its current uses are as a trendy cafe bar, restaurant and club, a beauty salon and a hairdressers.
